M&M Country Cafe Formerly Spark's Grocery 618 East Hudgens Street

At the time of this writing 618 East Hudgens Street is M&M Country Cafe. Where they make breakfast and lunch. All their food is great, But I can't get enough of their breakfast. They can make it to go. Sausage omelets and biscuits with old fashioned gravy is the best.

618 East Hudgens Street is a small building. But this has a ton of memories. This was Spark's groceries for years. 1948 to 1997. Run by two older ladies, Opal Sparks and Nellie Nichols. The store was known for their candy and cold drinks. They also had a slicer where they made thick bologna sandwiches.

  1. This was a favorite escape place for Capshaw pupils during the 1960s ... we could sneak across the street and buy a candy bar or popsicle (if we happened to have some money). It was against the rules, but rules are made to be broken and kids are made to break them.
